Skucast for Shopify — this page

The big-retailer playbook

The forecasting national chains run — without the six-figure software

Big-box retailers do not reorder on gut feel. They run statistical demand models that treat a slow-moving spare part differently from a top seller, and trigger replenishment automatically. That technology normally costs hundreds of thousands a year.

Skucast puts the same class of method — Croston’s intermittent-demand forecasting, automatic SKU classification and rule-based auto-replenishment — in a Shopify app an independent shop can run for $99 a month.

What you are choosing between

  • Enterprise demand-planning suitesSix figures a year, months to implement, and a team to run it.
  • Basic Shopify reorder appsNaive sales averages that break on the long tail, and constant babysitting.
  • Skucast for ShopifyEnterprise-grade method, live in ten minutes, $99 a month flat.
Skucast · Forecaster
The forecaster sorting a catalog into tiers — critical, urgent, buy soon, seasonal, overstock and dead — with a table of parts underneath showing demand class, lead time and the recommended order quantity for each, grouped so each supplier gets its own purchase order.
Every SKU classified on its own demand pattern, then tiered by when it runs out. The buy list arrives grouped by supplier.

What is in it

Your whole back office, in one Shopify app

Forecasting, purchasing, receiving, returns, vendor management and daily reports — the command center for shops that buy and resell real inventory.

Croston-method forecasting

Auto-classifies every SKU as smooth, lumpy, dead, seasonal or new — and recommends reorder quantities from real demand patterns, not naive averages.

Self-driving reorder

Every evening Skucast drafts the purchase orders your forecast says you need, grouped by vendor and ready to glance at and send. Replenishment runs itself.

Purchase orders that don’t suck

Create, email and receive POs. Magic-link acknowledgement lets suppliers confirm in one click. Partial receives, shipping-cost blending, ETA tracking, bundle expansion.

Margin-drift alerts

When a supplier quietly raises costs and your margin slips, Skucast flags it the moment you receive the PO — before it eats your profit for months.

Protect your ad budget

Sold-out products keep burning Google and Meta spend on clicks that cannot convert, and trip Merchant Center disapprovals. Stay in stock and your paid traffic only ever lands on what is buyable.

Vendor reliability scorecard

See which suppliers actually deliver on time. Lead-time tracking, fill rate, on-time-delivery percentage. Stop tolerating chronic late vendors.

RMAs & returns

Open a return against a vendor, email or print a clean RMA on your letterhead, and track it through approval to credit — no more sticky notes.

Daily action reports

A morning stockout briefing, today’s action items, an end-of-day recap, and a cash-and-commitments view of every open PO and dollar on order. Signal, no noise.

Command palette

Two keystrokes to any PO, supplier or SKU. Built for the buyer who has the whole catalog in their head and just needs the data fast.

Receiving & labels

Receive against a PO and print product and bin labels from the same screen — the full receiving-to-shelf workflow, plus CSV import and role-based staff access.

Add-on · coming soon

Ask your inventory anything

Ask in plain English — what is about to stock out, what did I order last month, which vendors are running late. It answers from your live data and can draft a reorder. An optional paid upgrade, rolling out after launch.

Add-on · coming soon

Customer SMS

Text customers a Google-review request after they buy, plus order-status updates, from your own business number with STOP handling built in. Connect a number and turn it on when you are ready.

The hidden cost of a stockout

A stockout is a leak in your ad budget

The minute a product sells out, Google and Meta keep running its Shopping ads. You pay for every click that lands on a sold-out page. And the out-of-stock status ripples into Google Merchant Center, where it triggers disapprovals that quietly drag down the performance of your whole feed.

Skucast fixes the root cause: it keeps you in stock. Forecasting and self-driving reorder put your hero SKUs back on the shelf before they run dry, so your paid traffic only ever lands on products you can actually sell.

Three outcomes

  • Run out without forecastingAds keep serving sold-out SKUs and you pay for clicks that cannot convert.
  • The Merchant Center rippleOut-of-stock items trip disapprovals and drag down feed health.
  • Stay ahead with SkucastReorder before you run out; ads and feed only ever show what is buyable.

How it works

From install to first PO in ten minutes

No data migration. No imports. Connect your Shopify store and Skucast starts learning your demand from your existing order history.

  1. Install from the App StoreOne-click OAuth. Skucast reads your products, variants and twelve weeks of order history to seed the forecaster.
  2. Add your suppliersA quick form for each vendor — name, email, lead time. Lead times auto-track after your first few POs.
  3. Wait for the morning alertDay one, the forecaster identifies the SKUs at stockout risk. Email plus a dashboard alert with one-click Create PO buttons.
  4. Send, receive, repeatClick send, the supplier acknowledges via magic link, you receive against the PO when it arrives. Margin drift is flagged automatically.

Three questions people ask before installing

Coming from Stocky?

Stocky shuts down August 31, 2026. Skucast imports your purchase history, supplier relationships and lead-time data in five minutes — no spreadsheet wrangling. Founding pricing: a 30-day free trial, then 50% off your first three months, applied automatically. No code needed.

Skucast vs Prediko

Both forecast your inventory. The difference is scope: Prediko is a forecasting tool; Skucast is the whole purchasing back office — forecasting plus self-driving POs, vendor lead times, RMAs and margin alerts, at a flat price that does not climb with your revenue.

For parts sellers

Your catalog is not twenty bestsellers, it is two thousand slow movers. Most forecasting apps chase the hits and ignore the long tail, which is exactly where stockouts and dead stock cost you money.

Common questions

Questions we actually get

How does the 30-day free trial work?
30 days from install. No credit card required at signup — Shopify Billing handles the trial. You will not be charged until day 31. Cancel anytime during the trial from your Shopify Apps page, no charge.
What does Skucast access from my Shopify store?
For the core app: products, variants, inventory levels, vendor names, completed order line items for forecasting, and shop info — no customer personal data. The optional Customer SMS add-on additionally uses customer name and phone number to send the texts you turn on. See our Privacy Policy for the full list.
Is the forecasting really enterprise-grade?
It is the same class of method large retailers and enterprise warehouses use: Croston's method for intermittent demand, automatic per-SKU classification, and rule-based replenishment. Basic Shopify reorder apps use naive sales averages that work for fast movers but fall apart on the long tail of slow-moving parts — exactly where stockouts and dead stock cost you money.
How is this different from Skucast Dealer OS?
Skucast for Shopify is an add-on to the store you already run: forecasting, purchasing and returns, and nothing else changes. Skucast Dealer OS replaces the stack — register, orders, service, serialized units and titling, your own storefront, and every shopping feed and marketplace on one system. Dealer OS is the main product; this app is the back office for merchants staying on Shopify.
Is the AI included?
AI Ask is an optional add-on, coming soon as a paid upgrade — the $99 launch plan focuses on the inventory back office. When it is enabled you ask in plain English and it reads your live data to answer, and can draft a reorder for you to confirm. It never takes an irreversible action without you clicking confirm.
Does Skucast help with my Google and Meta ads?
Indirectly, and it adds up. When a product sells out, Google and Meta keep serving its Shopping ads, so you pay for clicks to a sold-out page; the out-of-stock status also ripples into Merchant Center as disapprovals that drag down your whole feed. Forecasting and self-driving reorder keep your sellers in stock, so your paid traffic and your feed only ever feature products customers can actually buy.
How is the forecasting different from Stocky's?
Stocky uses naive velocity averages, which work for fast-moving smooth-demand SKUs but fall apart on the long tail. Skucast uses Croston's method, the standard for intermittent demand, and auto-classifies every SKU — so a spare part that sells twice a month gets the right model and your top sellers get a different one.
Is this only for trailer, RV and parts shops?
No. Skucast was built and battle-tested inside a real Shopify parts dealership, but everything it does — forecasting, POs, RMAs, the vendor scorecard, daily reports — applies to any shop that buys and resells real inventory with vendor relationships and meaningful PO volume.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Everything is deleted within 48 hours of uninstall, per Shopify's shop/redact compliance policy. Want a CSV export first? Email support@skucast.app and we will send it before deletion.
Is my data private?
Yes. Each merchant runs in an isolated tenant — no shared databases, no cross-merchant data access. Storage is Cloudflare KV with merchant-scoped keys. You can export everything as CSV or JSON anytime, and request full deletion via email.
Who built Skucast?
Skucast is a product of Carmotive LLC, a Michigan software company. It is built and run daily at a working trailer dealership — real catalog, real POs, real customers. We use it ourselves every day before any customer touches it.
